Navigating the public benefits system can be complicated and challenging. The Mobile Benefit Bank staff can provide easy access to available public benefits for low-income and moderate-income people. Staff members with laptops, printers, cell phones, and mobile Internet access travel to events and activities throughout Lucas County. When working with someone from the Mobile Benefits Bank, you are screened immediately to determine your eligibility for government benefits.
By using the Ohio Benefit Bank’s Web-based program, the Mobile Benefit Bank staff are able to assist seniors, the disabled, and families with children who are not accessing the public benefits for which they may be eligible.

The Mobile Benefit Bank is a joint project of Advocates for Basic Legal Equality, Inc. (ABLE) and Legal Aid of Western Ohio, Inc. (LAWO). The project is supported in part by ABLE, LAWO, United Way of Greater Toledo, the Toledo Community Foundation, and the Lucas County Department of Job and Family Services.
The Ohio Benefit Bank is made available through a partnership among the Governor's Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, the Ohio Association of Second Harvest Foodbanks, and other faith-based, nonprofit, governmental, and private sector partners.
