Protecting Juanita and her family from eviction

Protecting Juanita and her family from eviction

Sally is the sole care provider for her daughter Juanita*, who has severe intellectual disabilities. Sally can’t work because she doesn’t make enough money to pay someone to care full-time for Juanita.

ABLE represented Juanita in a state hearing, and it was determined that she was eligible for a waiver that will provide support services, which will allow her to receive the in-home care that her family needs. Now, Sally can work outside the home and make enough money to provide stable housing for her and Juanita without the constant fear of eviction.
